Diarmuid mentioned it recently. Seems like an excuse.
How about 81. Five minutes elevator trip and one flight to Kitchen 60. Good view, not on the outside. People can wander in if they want to. Out of the way enough that we're not getting a parade.
Thank you for being such a supportive friend--to everyone, not just me. This gift probably isn't of the strength that you would prefer, but I hope it helps show my appreciation for everything you've done, even if just a little bit.
Rick
[Sent with the letter is a strange, lumpy package, which upon inspection is actually just a leather jacket wrapped around a bottle. Said bottle is filled with fresh apple cider--not quite the ale Rick was hoping to make, but it should still be very tasty.]
You've been a pretty cool partner yourself. Sorry if I couldn't get you anything good on short notice. Especially not anything as good as what you've given me.
I'll get you something better later. I'm a little busy now.
--Lancer
[Enclosed with the note are two flowers folded from paper.]
[There are several things in the package with this letter including a wooden comb and brush. Both the comb and brush are covered with intricate carvings. There is also a small bag of wooden hair beads that share the same detailed carvings as the comb and brush do.]
Brother,
I am sorry it's taken me so long to get something to you for your birthday. I was afraid that as it got closer to June things would get so busy that we would start forgetting things like birthdays and anniversaries. Sadly, it seems that this is proving to be the case. I just want you to know that no matter what happens and how busy we get, I will never forget how much you mean to me and how glad I am that I was put into a room with you when I first arrived here.
The beads and comb are for you. The brush... I don't know if you have anything to brush your horse with, but every animal deserves some pampering, yes? Maybe it will cut down on the biting a little bit too...
